KAUAI, HAWAII- Kauai is known as the Garden Isle. The oldest and northern most of the Hawaiian Islands, Kauai is the forth-largest island in the Hawaiian chain. The “Garden Isle” is an accurate description as Kauai is a tropical lush island aged by the elements. Kauai doesn’t have the plethora of courses that Maui, the Big Island, or Oahu has. What they lack in quantity they make up for inQUALITY. 2013 Golf Digest- State by State has three of the five major Resort courses ranked in the top 15- Princeville Prince, Princeville Makai, and Poipu Bay. North Kauai-Princeville Prince is considered Kauai’s most difficult and perfect for the avid golfer. Its sister course Princeville Makai is easier and great for the average golfer. Princeville’s appeal is its North Shore location and these two iconic Robert Trent Jones Jr designs.

South Kauai-Moving South you will find Poipu Bay, Kauai Lagoons and the two value courses- Kiahuna and Puakea. Golf at Kauai Lagoons is in the middle in terms of difficulty. It is more challenging than Poipu Bay but less than Princeville Prince. Kauai Lagoons recently redesigned their ocean front holes to create the longest stretch of ocean front holes in Hawaii. Poipu Bay was home to the 12-time PGA Grand Slam. It is located on the dryer side of the island between rugged mountains and ocean vistas. You have have the chance to play where the pro’s play.

The two value courses- Kiahuna and Puakea are perfect for the budget minded golfers. Popular with the locals, Kiahuna Golf is unique as it is circles past ancient Hawaiian archeological sites.
